Parkwood Men's Event

Here are some pictures from Saturday morning and then some at the range. Nothing gets you awake like a shotgun blast at 8:30am! (I apologize that I did not get any pictures at the Pavilion Friday night. I could not find the batteries for the camera at the time. )



There was plenty of night time noises to keep the critters away. Here's a sample.




Bed head, cold feet, sock eyed faces were the norm at 6:30 that morning.


All in all it was an excellent time of fellowship and encouragement. We hope that the next event will be even better! Many thanks to everyone who came and to Parkwood as a whole for allowing us the privilege to have this event.

Parkwood Accountability Guide

The following guideline should help direct when you meet:[1]

1. Pray for one another
2. Speak about scripture and new insights it has afforded
   
3. Ask a few fellowship questions of each other, such as:
1. What is the best thing that has happened to you since our last meeting?
2. Do you have any unusual burdens or troubles this week?
3. How is your witness?
4. Where have you seen the Lord at work lately?
5. What has the Lord been teaching you recently?
6. Have you had any evangelistic opportunities lately?
7. Have you had any obvious answers to prayer recently?
8. What is an area of growth in your life right now?
9. What are you passionate about right now?[2]
   
4. As the relationship builds, ask personal accountability questions of each other, such as:
1. Have you been with a member of the opposite sex in a way that might be considered compromising or questionable?
2. Have any of your financial dealings lacked integrity?
3. Have you exposed yourself to any sexually explicit material?
4. Have you spent adequate time in Bible reading and prayer?
5. Have you been meditating on, and not just reading, Scripture?
6. Have you given priority time to your family (if applicable)?
7. Have you fulfilled the mandates of your calling?
8. Have you lied to me in any of these answers?[3]
   
5. Ask personal goal questions of each other. These are questions you may develop for yourself based upon individual goals (personal, physical, spiritual, relational, etc.) you have set for yourself, and for which you desire the encouragement of accountability.

More Possible Questions:

1. How is your ministry?

2. Where has God answered your prayers this week?

3. How has your joy been?

4. What nuggets have you received from Scripture?

5. Have you had any evangelistic opportunities?

6. How have your devotions been?

7. Have you been a good steward of your time?

8. Have you loved your wife like Christ loves the church and does she know it?

9. Have you been faithful to your wife (physically/mentally/prayer for her/devotions with her/etc.)

10. Have you trusted in the Spirit alone for your ministry/sanctification?

11. Have you worked hardily as for the Lord at work and witnessed to that?

12. Have you taken care of your body?

Accountability Covenant

 

   Feeling led by the spirit, and in accordance with Scripture, we do hereby enter into an accountability covenant with one another in order to strive for Christlikeness in the following areas:

• Our relationship with the living God: spending time daily in prayer and Bible reading/meditation and leading family devotions in the same
• Our relationship with our spouse: loving, listening, leading, lifting up, and to be faithful mentally and physically
• Our relationships with others: purposefully working on building up and serving fellow Christians and being a positive witness by our walk and talk
• Our grasp of God’s Word: regular intake, study and submission to God’s Word so steadily, constantly and frequently, as that we may find, and plainly perceive ourselves to grow in the knowledge of the same.
• Our confrontation with sin: immediate and consistent confession, without compromise
• Our integrity: do we mean what we say and say what we mean, and fulfill our promises
• Our motivation: are we seeking our glory or God’s, whose kingdom are we seeking to advance
• Our stewardship: surrendering our time, money and spiritual gifts to the Lord
• Our Lord’s Day worship: faithfully attending and contributing to the worship of God on Sundays
• Our character: more like Jesus
• Our perspective: speech and spirit flavored with an attitude of gratitude
• Our discipline:  laboring to use every moment of our time such that God would be pleased with our usage of it
